Experts remain dubious of E-cigarettes safety
E-cigarettes have been a topic of conversation lately since experts aren’t sure whether these electronic cigarettes are a harmful alternative for smoking. The vaporizer cigarettes are metal tubes that are designed to look like real cigarettes and contain a cartridge filled with a liquid that is vaporized by a battery-powered heating element. Manufacturers say they are a healthy alternative for tobacco smokers who want to avoid inhaling smoke. However government and health agencies think otherwise.
The manufacturers of these e-cigarette and satisfied customers say that this nicotine vapor offers many advantages over traditional cigarettes. The device is battery-operated and can also emit non-nicotine vaporized solutions. The user can choose whether or not to have nicotine in the liquid solution. Furthermore some experts say the ingredients in the solutions have no serious known side effects.
Governments and health experts aren’t sure though. They’re asking questions about the possible side effects of inhaling nicotine vapor, as well as other health risks both to users and to the public. The British Medical Association (BMA) reports there is a possibility for smoking cessation benefits, but they recommend a “strong regulatory framework” for e-cigarette distribution in order to ensure their safety, quality, and that their marketing and sales are restricted to adults. They claim that these devices should be forbidden until proper research has been conducted to prove they are save. This regulation is the subject of ongoing debate.
